The trial of a 39 year old man claiming to be a witch doctor who allegedly raped a woman in 2010 at a relative's house in Nasinu continues today.
The court heard that the 25-year-old woman had gone to find a cure for her pimples when the man allegedly performed a kava ritual and claimed that he has summoned the spirits of ancient gods onto himself.
During examination by State Counsel Lisiate Fotofili, the man informed the court that he knows the woman’s family as he has been selling vegetables to them for the past few years.
The accused also admitted that whatever happened on that day was with consent.
