New DPP appointed

The country has a new Director of Public Prosecutions.

She is Ayesha Jinasena, who is a Prosecutor from Sri Lanka and has twenty years experience.

Aca Rayawa who was the Acting Director of Public Prosecutions is no longer with the DPP's office.

Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said Rayawa's contract has been terminated.
