Today is Easter Sunday or resurrection Sunday when Christians celebrate the resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ.
In Christianity it is believed that the rising from the dead of Christ is also a time that old habits are buried and marks a new beginning.
Today also marks the end of Lent, a 40 day period of fasting, prayer, and penance.
It is also the time to remember and pray for others in our society and Chief Chaplain of the Fiji Police Force, Reverend Mesulame Senimoli said the rising of Christ also held a special message in the fight against HIV and Aids.
