The Fiji Military Force will appeal the conviction and sentence handed down to the eight soldiers who have been sentenced to four years imprisonment for manslaughter for the death of Sakiusa Rabaka.
Military spokesperson Major Neumi Leweni confirmed that the appeal is expected to be filed later today.
The eight soldiers and police officer who assaulted 19 year old Nadi resident Sakiusa Rabaka, which resulted in his death, have each received a 4 year prison sentence.
