The sugar industry will become viable again despite the negative comments from the Prophets of Doom, and I mean it.
Those are the words of Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama as he spoke to farmers and landowners in Moto, Ba in the last hour.
Bainimarama stressed that the sugar industry will stay in Fiji however he maintained that the political elements should not be involved in the industry.
He said this is the main reason why the Sugar Cane Growers Council has been dissolved, which has also resulted in the reduction of the financial burden by 250 thousand dollars a year.
