Around 2800 athletes to take part in Coca Cola Games

This year’s Coca Cola Games will be bigger as around 2800 athletes from over 70 secondary schools around the country have been confirmed to take part in the prestigious event.

Chief organizer Vuli Waqa said they thought the number will decrease this year due to the new qualifying standards but instead it has turned out to be the total opposite.

Waqa said in some cases six athletes qualified from one zone for the same event.

The tickets are already on sale at the games office at McGregor road in Suva.

Grandstand tickets are $30 for both days, concrete seating on the embankment is $12 a day while grass seating is $10 a day.

Meanwhile, the Coca Cola Games torch will be at Vaturova Koroalau High school, Navatu Junior Secondary School, Savusavu Junior secondary and Saint Bedes College this morning.

The Coca Cola Games starts next Friday at the ANZ Stadium.
