Good lessons were learnt from the loss against Tonga in the pool matches of the New Zealand Sevens.
As the Digicel Fiji Sevens team gets ready to take on South Africa in the cup quarterfinals, coach Etuate Waqa said they have learnt a lot from yesterday’s pool matches.
Waqa added the players fought back in the last match against Wales and this is the performance that is expected again from Fiji against South Africa today.
Meanwhile Waqa added the same lineup can be expected today against South Africa which ran against Wales last night.
The staring seven against Wales saw the likes of Nemani Nagusa, Lepani Botea in the forwards while Setefano Cakau moved to rover with Osea Kolinisau at the wing.
The cup quarterfinals starts at 1.33pm with New Zealand playing France, at 1.55pm England will meet Tonga, Canada faces Samoa at 2.17pm while the South Africa and Fiji game is at 2.39pm.
In last night’s results, Fiji beat Wales 19-0, South Africa edged England 14-10, Australia and France drew 10-10 while in the last pool game of day one, hosts and defending champions New Zealand beat Samoa 19-7.
The cup semifinal starts at 5.35pm.
The cup final will be played at 8.30pm.
