The Fiji 7's team successfully defended their gold medal beating Samoa 26-19 in the final. It was the first achievement for Coach Joe Savou who took over from Waisale Serevi.
Speaking to Legend FM sports, Savou said the only message he had for his boys was to play aggressive rugby and stop Uale Mai.
Meanwhile, Vilimaina Davu also got a winning start since taking over from Megan Simpson as she guided the National netball team to gold after beating Samoa by 54 goals to 41.

The third gold came in the swimming competition when Caroline Pickering Puamau got her second after winning the women's 50 metres freestyle final and also broke the new Pacific Games record in a time of 26.37 seconds.
