New Zealand Prime Minister John Key is reiterating potential support for Fiji to return to the Pacific Islands Forum.
Key’s comments come as he leaves for a tour to visit Samoa, Tonga and Niue.
Key says the return of Fiji to the forum was likely to be a topic of conversation on his tour.
He added providing that Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama holds democratic and fair elections, then the view of New Zealand is it would support a return of Fiji back into the forum.
Meanwhile Fiji will host the second Pacific Islands Development Forum later this month.
The chief guest at the event will be Indonesian President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
