Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has called on world leaders for patience and understanding while addressing the 64th Session of the United Nations General Assembly this morning in New York.
Commodore Bainimarama laid out the government's plans to hold election by September 2014 and explained why this has been done.
Bainimarama told the General Assembly that the people of Fiji will be consulted on the formulation of a new constitution.
While calling for understanding the Prime Minister quoted US President Barack Obama on imposing democracy on any nation.
