17 kindergarten students and their parents escaped injuries after a bus they were travelling in caught fire at Rewa Street in the last hour.
Speaking to Fijivillage, kindergarten teacher Savaira Mow said one of the parents got off opposite the Suva Primary School bus stand when he noticed the smoke coming out from the back compartment of the bus.
Mow added they quickly got off the bus with the help of some secondary school students who were standing at the bus stop while the driver went under the bus and tried to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher.
The Kindergarten students from Raiwaqa were on their way back from a field trip when the incident happened.
The driver is currently being questioned by Police.
