Futsal side opens campaign on a high

The National Futsal team opened its OFC Futsal Championship campaign on a high note after the team beat Tahiti 2-0 in its first match last night.

Fiji's attack looked promising with Captain Kamal Hassan, Petero Dauniseka and Roy Krishna leading the charge.

Fiji's goals were scored by Ba lad Petero Dauniseka and Kamal Hassan.

In the other matches played yesterday, Vanuatu beat Tuvalu 7-1 and Solomons thrashed New Caledonia 9-2.

Fiji is on bye today and its next match will be against Tuvalu tomorrow.

In the matches today, Vanuatu will take on New Caledonia at 5pm, Tuvalu will meet Tahiti at 6.30pm and at 8pm Solomons and New Zealand clash in the feature match.

Meanwhile, a bonus of $10,000 awaits the Fiji Futsal side if they win the 2010 OFC Futsal Championship.

Futsal Commission Chairman Anil Sharma promised the players that if they win the OFC Futsal Championship he will give $10,000 from his own pocket.
