Media industry development authority keen on raising standards

The Media Industry Development Authority is now mapping out ways to raise the standard of media services in English and other vernacular languages.

Authority Chairperson, Professor Subramani also stressed that there is a misunderstanding of the true intentions of the Media Decree both in Fiji and overseas.

He said it is important that as part of the vision of a new Fiji, with a common identity and purpose, that there are quality media services in all languages which will help people in defining themselves.

Professor Subramani added that this is the reason why the Authority is keen on facilitating the growth of vernacular media services.
