50 students from Rotuma were taken to the Rotuma sub-divisional hospital on Friday following influenza like illness.
This has been confirmed by Health Ministry spokesperson Peni Namotu who said that the alarm was raised after students were found to be having fevers, complaining of weakness and were not able to walk properly.
Namotu added that some students were also kept under observation but were discharged the next day.
