The Police file into the death of 29-year-old nurse Rajnish Lal, who died at the Nausori Health Centre last month, is being compiled and will be forwarded to the Resident Magistrate for an inquest.
Police say the statement of Lal’s friend, who was discharged from hospital, has been recorded.
Lal died last month after fainting while taking care of his sick friend, whom he had taken to the health centre after he started vomiting following a night of drinking kava and alcohol.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime Loraini Seru had earlier confirmed to fijivillage News that samples collected from Lal had been sent to New Zealand for testing as investigations continued and the post-mortem examination was completed.
