According to TVNZ, New Zealand Prime Minister John Key said the footage was “very alarming”.
Key said they take it seriously and expect the Fijian authorities to deal with them appropriately and hold those people who have undertaken those beatings to account.
Key said it is this sort of thing they worry an awful lot about but the Foreign Minister is raising it with his counterpart.
