The Commonwealth Special Envoy to Fiji said New Zealand should rethink its stand against Fiji.
Sir Paul Reeves told a Pacific Policy conference at the Auckland University that Fiji needs incentives to move to democracy, and not punishment, as the sanctions against Fiji is not working.
This report from Radio New Zealand.
New Zealand has imposed a number of sanctions against Fiji, which includes, travel bans on certain people.
The ban covers all RFMF personnel, including any member of the Fiji Government or those who have accepted an appointment to an office or a board by the government.
The bans also include the freeze on Fijian participation in recognised seasonal employer policy and a ban on sporting contacts.
