Guilty

Guilty
Guilty.

That is the verdict of the five assessors and High Court Judge, Justice Paul Madigan in the relation to the kill plot trial of Prime Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama.

Earlier this afternoon, the five assessors returned to the High Court with a unanimous guilty verdict for accused Ratu Inoke Takiveikata, Feoko Gadekibau, Barbados Mills, Sivaniolo Naulago, Metuisela Mua, Eparama Waqatairewa, Kaminieli Vosavere and Pauliasi Namulo.

This means that the assessors have found the eight men guilty of conspiring to murder Commodore Bainimarama in 2007.

High Court Judge, Justice Paul Madigan ruled a few minutes ago that he has also found the eight men guilty beyond reasonable doubt.

The eight men will be sentenced at 10am tomorrow.

The maximum sentence for conspiracy to murder is 14 years imprisonment.
