159 foreign investment projects registered

159 foreign investment projects registered

A total of 159 foreign investment projects have been registered so far in the country which is worth about $821.59 million. 

Investment Fiji Chief Executive Officer Ravuni Uluilakeba said these projects have been registered from January to August, while there are seven foreign investment proposals with a proposed value of $74.92 million. 

Uluilakeba said there is an expected employment of 3,246 from these registered investment projects which are in the Tourism, Services, Wholesale retail, Manufacturing and Agriculture sectors. 
     
Uluilakeba said a good deal of investments are also undertaken by local companies whose investments exceed $500,000. 

He said a total of seven local investors have been assisted in getting approvals in the month of August.
