The Kangaroos' Rugby League World Cup campaign has suffered a setback as halfback Mitchell Moses has been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament after suffering a leg injury against the Kiwis in the opening match last week.
The Kangaroos camp confirmed that the Parramatta playmaker had been diagnosed with a high-grade muscle tear following an MRI scan in Sydney.
Moses picked up the injury midway through the first half of Thursday night's game against the Kiwis and initially battled on after receiving treatment.
However, he lasted just two minutes into the second half before limping from the field.
Raiders five-eighth Ethan Strange will replace Moses in the 23-man Kangaroos squad in Brisbane.
Meanwhile, the Kangaroos will host the Vodafone Fiji Bati at 9.05pm on Sunday.
In other Round 2 matches, Tonga will face Lebanon at 9.05pm tomorrow, Papua New Guinea will meet Samoa at 4.25pm Saturday, while England will take on France at 6.35pm.
New Zealand will play the Cook Islands at 5.05pm on Sunday.
