Mother of 5 encourages parents to ensure children with RHD receive monthly injections
A mother of five children living with Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) is encouraging parents and caregivers to ensure their children receive their monthly benzathine penicillin injections to help prevent serious complications.

Teresia Delilah of Naroi Village on Moala Island, ensures her children never miss their monthly injections despite the challenges of caring for a large family.

She is also encouraging other parents and caregivers to make their children's treatment a priority.

Delilah says parents play an important role in ensuring their children follow their treatment plans.

She says the monthly benzathine penicillin injections, commonly known as benza shots, help protect children living with RHD from serious complications.

Her message to other parents and caregivers is simple, do not miss a shot.

Parents and caregivers are being urged to keep track of appointment dates, plan ahead and ensure their children receive their injections on time.

They are also encouraged to support their children's full treatment plans and remind other families about the importance of staying on schedule.
