NZ Warriors star Roger Tuivasa-Sheck will leave the club at the end of the 2026 NRL season to join English Super League side Wakefield Trinity.

The league/union double international is a former Warriors captain and the only player from the club to win the Dally M Medal, the competition’s Player of the Year.

Speculation over his future has been rife for about a year, after he was linked to the breakaway R360 rugby competition, which has since been delayed until 2028.

The 32-year-old is in the final year of his current contract with the Warriors and has explored a range of options, including staying at the club or moving back to Sydney, where his NRL career began with the Roosters.

While announcing his move on his brother Johnny’s YouTube channel, Tuivasa-Sheck says he has signed a two-year deal with Wakefield Trinity and will relocate with his family.

This month, Tuivasa-Sheck reached his 150th game for the Warriors and has won the Simon Mannering Medal as the club’s MVP four times.

Among his new teammates will be former Warriors utility Jazz Tevaga.
