Team Fiji ends Glasgow Commonwealth Games campaign in 20th place

Team Fiji has finished 20th at the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, winning one gold medal through weightlifter Taniela Rainibogi and one bronze medal through boxer Jasmine Daunakamakama.

They share the spot with the Bahamas and the Isle of Men.

The other standout performer for Team Fiji was swimmer David Tolu Young who finished 6th in the 50 metres freestyle finals.

Young is the first Fijian swimmer to make the finals in swimming.

Meanwhile in last night's competitions, Team Fiji judoka, Gerard Takayawa won his round of 16 elimination match in the Men's +100kg division defeating Adam Hall of Northern Ireland 101-0.

Takayawa went down to Canadian John Bassong in the quarterfinals 100-0.

He also lost out to Gregor Miller of Scotland in the repechage.

Team Fiji Swimming and Basketball athletes were welcomed back by Assistant Minister for Youth and Sports Aliki Bia last night.

Meanwhile, Australia dominated the medal tally with 70 gold, 45 silver, and 56 bronze, England is second with 29 gold, 45 silver, 36 bronze, while Canada scooped third with 19 gold, 20 silver and 23 bronze medals.
