Switzerland have booked a quarter-final clash against defending champions Argentina at the FIFA World Cup after beating Colombia 4-3 on penalties in their Round of 16 match.

The match ended nil-all after full time and extra time, with both sides unable to find the back of the net.

Switzerland held their nerve in the penalty shootout to edge Colombia 4-3 and keep their World Cup campaign alive.

Meanwhile, Argentina staged a stunning comeback to beat Egypt 3-2 in their Round of 16 clash and captain Lionel Messi has also broken two World Cup records.

Messi now holds the record for the most goals scored by a player at the World Cup with 21, and has also become the first player to score in nine consecutive World Cup matches.

Meanwhile, the quarter-finals starts this Friday with France taking on Morocco at 8am, and Spain will face Belgium at 7am on Saturday.

On Sunday, Norway will take on England at 9am while Argentina will face Switzerland at 1pm.
