Hosting the first-ever Super W Grand Final in Fiji is a landmark moment for women's sport in the country and a significant boost for women's rugby.
McDonald's Fiji Drua Women's head coach Mike Legge shared the comments from their home-base in Nadi, saying the occasion reflects the remarkable progress women's rugby has made in Fiji this year.
Legge says the team has earned its place in the final through hard work and dedication.
He believes one of the biggest factors behind the Drua's success has been the strong bond among the players and the positive culture within the squad.
He added that while the team has maintained high standards and worked hard throughout the season, the coaching staff has also focused on creating a relaxed and enjoyable environment, allowing the players to have fun and bring out their best performances.
When asked about the NSW Waratahs, Legge acknowledged the challenge they pose, noting that the Tahs are the back-to-back defending champions and are chasing a record seventh Super W title.
He says the players have great respect for the Waratahs and understand the quality and experience they will bring into the grand final.
