Ratu Kadavulevu School defeated Lelean Memorial School 29-12 in the Under-17 Vodafone Deans Eastern Zone Secondary Schools Rugby Union competition at Nukuvuto Grounds.
The defending Under-17 zone champions had to dig deep after the teams were locked 12-all at halftime before pulling away in the second half.
In other Under-17 results, Sila Central High School thumped Tailevu North College 33-17, while Queen Victoria School won by default against Muanaweni College.
Meanwhile, in the Under-15 grade, Ratu Kadavulevu School defeated Nakasi High School 51-0, Tailevu North College thumped Bau College 52-10, Queen Victoria School thrashed St Vincent College 52-3, and Lelean Memorial School beat Wainibuka Secondary School 41-10.
In the Under-16 elimination matches, Lelean Memorial School defeated Bau College 32-12, Sila Central High School beat St John's College 22-5, and Ratu Kadavulevu School defeated Naiyala High School 14-0.
In the Weet-Bix Raluve competition, Lelean Memorial School defeated Tailevu North College 20-10, while Adi Cakobau School thumped St Vincent College 36-10 in the Under-16 division.
In the Raluve Under-18 quarter-finals, Muanaweni College defeated St John’s College 20-5, Sila Central beat Pt. Shreedhar Maharaj College 28-17, Adi Cakobau School beat Bau College 24-5, while Dawasamu Secondary School thumped Lelean Memorial School 36-5.
