Raketekete set for dream Drua debut against Waratahs this Saturday

A dream years in the making is about to become reality for 22-year-old Ruth Raketekete, who is set to make her debut for the McDonald's Fiji Drua Women in their Super Rugby Women's season opener against the NSW Waratahs this Saturday in Sydney.

The utility back from Noco in Rewa, who also has maternal links to Wainibuka in Tailevu, says she is feeling both excited and nervous ahead of her first appearance for the Drua.

Raketekete says earning selection for the opening round is a privilege that comes with great responsibility, acknowledging the hard work required to secure a place in the squad.

The young back is among several players set to make their Super Rugby Women's debuts as the Drua begin their 2026 campaign against the defending champions.

The match will kick off at 4.05pm on Saturday at the Leichhardt Oval in Sydney.
