Pita Ahki urges Blues to deliver in crunch time

Pita Ahki urges Blues to deliver in crunch time

After losing two of their three games this season in the final 10 minutes, Blues centre Pita Ahki is urging his team to step up when it matters most.

Last weekend, the Blues held a 27-18 lead over the Brumbies until the 72nd minute, only to concede two late tries and suffer a heartbreaking defeat.

Ahki says they let that one slip away against the Brumbies.

Looking foward to tomorrow's clash with the Crusaders at Eden Park, Ahki emphasised the need for the Blues to be at their best, especially after the Crusaders’ dominant win over the Chiefs.

Having recently returned to New Zealand after seven years playing in France, Ahki hopes to use his experience to guide his younger teammates.

He says he is surrounded by a lot of talented players, and it’s really exciting.

The Blues will meet the Crusaders at 6.05pm tomorrow.

In other matches Moana Pasifika will face Chiefs at 6.05 tonight and the Waratahs will meet the Hurricanes later at 8.35pm.

The Highlanders will face Force at 3.35pm tomorrow and the Brumbies will play the Reds ast 8.35pm.
