New Zealand Sevens representative Tone Ngshiu, together with his family and representatives from Nanuku Resort, rallied behind Lomary Secondary School's Under-18 Raluve team by donating training equipment and food supplies during the Vodafone Weet-Bix Raluve National Championship.

The presentation took place following the team's captain's run, with the donations aimed at supporting the players as they prepared for the knockout stages of the competition.

The gifts included training equipment and food items to help the players with their preparations and wellbeing throughout the tournament.

School officials thanked the Ngshiu family and Nanuku Resort for their generosity, saying the gesture lifted the players' spirits and reminded them that they had the support of the wider community.

They say the donation was about more than providing equipment and food—it gave the players confidence and showed them that their commitment and hard work are recognised beyond the rugby field.

The support came before Lomary's quarter-final clash against Bua Central College, with the team going on to defeat Bua Central 38-5 to book a place in the semi-finals.

School officials say acts of generosity such as this inspire young athletes to keep striving for excellence, knowing there are people willing to invest in their future.
