With the hopes of the soccer-crazy town on their shoulders, Dayal’s Steel Ba FC players and management took time out from their 2026 Extra Battle of the Giants preparations to seek the blessings of Ba’s senior citizens ahead of the tournament, which kicks off tomorrow at the 4R Stadium at Govind Park.
Ba FA President Praneel Dayal says the visit was about respect, gratitude and giving back to those who helped build the community.
The club also provided lunch for the senior citizens and gave $20 BOG tickets to 100 senior citizens for all five days of the tournament.
The 100 senior citizens will also receive food vouchers for each day.
The Men in Black will begin their BOG campaign against Tagimoucia Nadi FC at 7.30pm tomorrow.
In other matches, Global Care Suva FC will take on Blue Gas Navua FC at 1pm, before Extra Supermarket Labasa FC faces Nasinu FC at 3pm.
Stratum/PPCL Rewa FC will meet Khelvin Engineering Lautoka FC at 5pm.
The official opening ceremony will be held at 7pm, followed by the feature match between Ba and Nadi.
