Team Fiji athlete Rusiate Matai finished 9th in the Men's High Jump final at the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games this morning.

He had a season-best jump height of 2.05 metres.

On the court, the Men's 3x3 Basketball went down 22-9 to Kenya.

The Fiji 3x3 Men’s team is led by Joshua Fox, supported by seasoned 3x3 athlete Filimone Waqabaca and rising talents Keenan Hughes and Isaac Sewabu.

On the tracks this morning, Natabua High School student Adi Ceva Lutumailagi finished 6th in her heat with a time of 2 minutes and 22.58 seconds, while Mahatma Gandhi School student Glandness Simpson was disqualified in Heat 4.  

In last night's results, Team Fiji's Errol Qaqa finished 7th in the 110 metres hurdle heats with a time of 14.66 seconds, while Heleina Young came 4th with a time of 11.76 seconds.

Coming up tonight, in the Men's 50 metres butterfly heats which begins at 9.56pm, Reuben Taylor will take part in Heat 4, Hansel McCaig in Heat 5 and David Young in Heat 9.

Anahira McCutchen will take part in Heat 8 of the Women's 50 metres freestyle heats which begins at 10.16pm.

Don Younger will compete in the men's 200 metres breaststroke heats at 10.36pm. 

Team Fiji will also take part in the Mixed 4x100 metres medley relay heat 2 and 3 which begins at 11.31pm.

Australia currently lead the Games tally with 26 gold, 13 silver, and 20 bronze, England are second with 8 gold, 13 silver, and 10 bronze, while Canada are third with 7 gold, 8 silver and 6 bronze.
