The prestigious Lutubula Trophy will be up for grabs this weekend as favourites Lelean Memorial School take on Ratu Kadavulevu School in the final of the Vodafone Deans Eastern Zone Under-18 Secondary Schools Rugby Union competition.
The Lutubula Trophy, once regarded as the symbol of dominance among Eastern Zone rugby powerhouses such as Queen Victoria School, Ratu Kadavulevu School and Lelean Memorial School, also serves as part of the qualification pathway to the Vodafone Deans competition.
Lelean heads into the final unbeaten this season and has been the dominant force in the Eastern Zone competition.
Defending Lutubula Trophy champions Queen Victoria School surrendered the title after a closely contested semi-final loss to Ratu Kadavulevu School last weekend.
RKS, the reigning Vodafone Deans Under-18 champions, will be looking to add another trophy to their cabinet while also securing a direct pathway to the national quarter-finals.
In the other finals, Queen Victoria School will face Ratu Kadavulevu School in the Under-14, Under-16 and Under-17 grades. Lelean Memorial School will take on Ratu Kadavulevu School in the Under-15 and Under-19 finals.
The Eastern Zone finals will be held at HFC Bank Stadium this Saturday.
