Labasa has maintained its top spot in the Extra Premier League after defeating Rewa 2-1 at Subrail Park in Labasa.
Labasa made the perfect start after Peniasi Rotidara scored the opening goal in the 40th minute of the first half.
However, Rewa fought back in the second half, with Kavaia Rawaqa scoring the equaliser.

Labasa continued to pressure Rewa in front of their home crowd, with Melvin Mani scoring the winning goal in stoppage time.
Labasa coach Alvin Chand says they are happy and proud of the team’s performance, as the players showed great fighting spirit to win the match.

He says he reminded the players that they had not beaten Rewa last year, and his plan was to secure a win over Rewa at Subrail Park.
Chand also says many people are making comments on social media, but they should not criticise the players as most of them are young and continue to deliver what the crowd wants.
