Konataci, who is from Burerua in Tailevu, departed last Thursday ahead of the Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
He is Fiji’s only para-athlete competing in the men’s discus throw at the Games.
Konataci will compete in the Ambulant Men's Discus Throw on Wednesday, 29th July in Glasgow.
He says preparations have been going well, although improving his throwing distance has been challenging at times.
Konataci says this will be his first Commonwealth Games and his first opportunity to represent Fiji on a major international sporting stage.
He says he is proud of the achievement and plans to focus on what he has been practising during training.
Konataci says if everything goes well, his goal is to compete for a gold medal.
The former Tailevu North College student says he competed in throwing events during secondary school and has continued to work hard despite challenges.
He is urging people in Fiji to support and pray for him as he prepares to represent the country.
The 23rd Commonwealth Games will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, from next Friday to 2nd August.
