Kolinisau open to Nasilasila’s return after Coral Coast 7s showing

Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s coach Osea Kolinisau has signalled that veteran playmaker Amenoni Nasilasila remains firmly in contention for a return to the national team, following an impressive showing at the Coral Coast Sevens.

Kolinisau says Nasilasila demonstrated that he still possesses the control and composure required at the highest level, particularly through his game management and goal-kicking.

The coach revealed he has remained in regular contact with Nasilasila since his release and made it clear that selection would be based purely on performance and fitness.

While selection debates continue, Kolinisau’s immediate focus remains on Fiji’s campaign at the Singapore Sevens, where the team is aiming to defend its third-place standing in the World Rugby Sevens Series.

Fiji have been drawn in Pool A alongside South Africa, Great Britain and Spain.

They will open against Great Britain at 4.32pm on Saturday, followed by matches against Spain at 7.58pm and South Africa at 11.46pm.

The Men’s Cup semi-finals will be played at 6.52pm on Sunday, with the final scheduled for 11.41pm.
