Tuwai will join his former captain and Rio Gold medalist, Osea Kolinisau.
The Fiji Rugby Union says together, the two Olympic champions will spearhead the next chapter of Fiji's journey to perform and grow on the World 7s circuit with the ultimate goal of winning Gold at the Los Angeles Olympics in July 2028.
They say the position was advertised early in January, where an overwhelming response was received locally and from interested individuals overseas.
Tuwai thanked the FRU for believing in him and giving him a chance to serve his country, but this time on the sidelines.

When asked by fijivillage Sports on how he can help the team moving forward, Tuwai says he will use all the knowledge and insights he has gained over the years.
Tuwai says he will help the coaching staff tactically and technically dissect all their opponents.
He says he will make sure that this goes together with their vision and team culture.
The next leg of the World Championship is in Valladolid, Spain, from the 29th to the 31st of May.
