Former Fiji Men's 7s representative John Stewart and former Otago base Peni Dela was instrumental in Kadavu Rugby Union's recent success, playing a key role in their winning performances.
Stewart, a seasoned rugby player, has represented Fiji in both the sevens and fifteens formats and was also part of the Fiji Drua squad during the National Rugby Championship (NRC).
The former Lelean Memorial School student has captained Suva on numerous occasions in the Skipper Cup and Farebrother Trophy campaigns.
His outstanding performances have earned him the Man of the Match award twice for Kadavu this season.
Kadavu secured a place in the semifinals of the Koroturaga competition after edging Queen Victoria School Old Boys 27–24 in a thrilling quarterfinal clash yesterday.
The side was also boosted by the experience of former Otago-based player Peni Delai, who provided strong leadership and direction from the number eight position.
In other quarterfinal results, RKS Old Boys defeated Namuka-i-Lau 18–14, while Eastern Saints overcame Vuna Brothers 21–15.
