The Western Force have moved up to eighth place in the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific standings after thumping Moana Pasifika 35-19 in Round 3 last night.

The Force ran in five tries to three to drag themselves off the bottom of the ladder and hand Moana a disappointing defeat in front of their home fans at Navigation Homes Stadium.

The win was also their first in New Zealand since beating the Pacific Islanders four years ago.

The Force's tries came from Darby Lancaster, Darcy Swain, George Bridge, Carlo Tizzano and Leonel Oviedo.

Meanwhile, Moana's tries came from hooker Millennium Sanerivi, Melani Matavao and Allan Craig.

In another match last night, the Reds thumped the Highlanders 31-14.

In today’s matches, the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will host the Hurricanes at 3.35pm, the Chiefs will face the Crusaders at 6.05pm, and the Brumbies will meet the Blues at 8.35pm.
