FIJI Water Flying Fijian Coach Senirusi Seruvakula has selected a powerful and pace-filled 23-man squad as the team prepares to face Wales in their opening Nations Championship clash at Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday morning.
Serevakula says the squad blends physical strength, speed and experience, highlighted by the return of loose forward Peceli Yato and the inclusion of young tight-head prop Tim Hoyt, who earns a starting debut.
He says every player had earned selection through consistent performances at club level and in recent campaigns.
Seruvakula praised Hoyt’s progress, noting that his form in France secured his opportunity following the unavailability of Luke Tagi.
The Coach says Hoyt has been showing good signs with his performances and numbers during his game time in France, and that provided him with this opportunity.

The midfield pairing of Josua Tuisova and Semi Radradra reunites, with Radradra returning to Test rugby after more than 18 months.
Jiuta Wainiqolo and Selestino Ravutaumada provide pace and finishing power on the wings, while Salesi Rayasi starts at fullback.
The bench provides depth and impact, with the return of Peceli Yato alongside experienced prop Peni Ravai and versatile back Vilimoni Botitu.
Seruvakula acknowledged the depth of talent available across both hemispheres made selection challenging but says the group is well prepared for the opening Test.
The Flying Fijians face a tough assignment against Wales in Cardiff, where a passionate home crowd is expected.
