Fiji Airways Fijiana secured their first win of the tournament after edging Canada 14–12 in their final pool match in Vancouver.

Canada struck first in the opening half, crossing the line for the first try of the match to take an early 5–0 lead. Both teams struggled to fully execute their set pieces, with handling errors preventing either side from building consistent momentum.

Despite Fiji’s efforts to break through, Canada maintained their advantage and led 5–0 at halftime.

The second half saw both sides lift their intensity, displaying strong defence and similar attacking patterns as they searched for a crucial win.

Fiji eventually found their breakthrough with a well-worked try to take the lead.

Canada responded soon after with another try, but a missed conversion left them ahead by a narrow 12–7 margin.

However, Fiji had the final say in the match, scoring a late try to seal a thrilling 14–12 victory and claim their first win of the tournament in Vancouver.
