Fijian Drua looking for redemption against Moana this weekend

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua face an uphill battle this week as they look to redeem themselves at their fortress in Lautoka, following last year’s 34-15 loss to Moana Pasifika in Auckland.

After a solid pre-season outing against the Chiefs in New Zealand and a dominant win over the Skipper Select last week, the Drua have had valuable game time to prepare for their opening clash of the season.

Former Wallabies halfback Issak Fines-Leleiwasa has been impressive in the number 9 jersey and continues to stake a strong claim for the starting position closely followed by co-captain Frank Lomani, Simi Kuruvoli and youngster Philip Baselala.

Fines-Leleiwasa becomes eligible for Fiji at the end of the year ahead of the Rugby World Cup.

The Drua take on Moana Pasifika at Churchill Park in Lautoka, with kickoff scheduled for 3pm this Saturday.
