As Fiji prepares to host the Oceania Swimming Championship in Suva tomorrow, several medal winners from the previous Oceania Games are expected to compete, including Thaddeus Kwong, Erik Tokona, and Reuben Taylor in the boys’ division, along with Imelda Smith in the girls’ competition.

The Fiji Swimming Association says day one of the championship will begin with the 50-metres butterfly events for both males and females, followed by the 200-metres freestyle races.

They say other events scheduled for the opening day include the backstroke races, the 1500-metres freestyle for both men and women, the 4x50-metres freestyle relay, and the competition will conclude with the 4x100-metres medley relay.

The Association is encouraging the public and supporters to turn out in large numbers to cheer on the swimmers from tomorrow till the 13th at the National Aquatic Centre in Suva.
