Fiji's champion swimmer David Tolu Young back in action tonight

Team Fiji swimmer David Tolu Young, who is the sixth-fastest man in the 50 metres freestyle at the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, will compete in the men's 50 metres butterfly heats tonight.

Young created history as the first Fijian swimmer to reach a Commonwealth Games final, and he will be hoping to secure another place in the final in the men's butterfly event.


Also competing in the men's 50 metres butterfly are Reuben Taylor and Hansel McCaig.

The heats will begin at 9.56pm.

Anahira McCutcheon will compete in the women's 50 metres freestyle heats, which start at 10.16pm.

McCutcheon finished sixth in the women's 100 metres freestyle semi-finals yesterday.

Don Younger will compete in the men's 200 metres breaststroke heats at 10.36pm.

Team Fiji will also compete in the mixed 4x100 metres medley relay heats, which begin at 11.31pm.

Australia currently lead the Games tally with 26 gold, 13 silver, and 20 bronze, England are second with 8 gold, 13 silver, and 11 bronze, while Canada are third with 7 gold, 8 silver and 6 bronze.
