Fiji Blue has defeated Y-Island Kava Vacalea 26-5 to claim the men’s Rooster Chicken Grassroots Fiji Sports Council 7s title this afternoon at the HFC Bank Stadium.
Fiji Blue featured national 7s representatives Iowane Teba, Josese Batirerega and Tira Patterson, who were influential throughout the final.
Fiji Blue started strongly, scoring two tries to lead 12-0 at half-time.
They continued their dominance in the second half, with Esala Nalobo and Batirerega scoring a try each to seal the win.
Vacalea’s points came from Isoa Koroiwaqa’s try in the ninth minute of the match.
In other results, FSC Grassroots 7s defeated JVJQ Brothers 31-5 to claim the U21 title, while Sinukakala edged Kadavu 21-20 in the women’s final.
