Fiji has suffered a heavy 102–40 defeat to Mongolia in the first round of the FIBA Asia Cup 2029 Pre-Qualifiers.
The Fiji men’s basketball side struggled against a strong Mongolian outfit, with Mongolia securing a 62-point victory.
Basketball Fiji describes it as a tough outing for the boys, but says the team’s hopes remain high with another match still to come.
Fiji will face Vietnam at 8pm tonight in its next match of the tournament.
The team will be looking to bounce back strongly and finish the first round on a positive note.
