Byrne says Fiji understands its World Cup rivals and is ready to build towards 2027

It is an exciting time for the FIJI Water Flying Fijians as their Rugby World Cup pool looks promising, especially as they have faced Spain and Canada numerous times over the years, and the prospect of playing Argentina after 20 years adds to the excitement.

This has been highlighted by FIJI Water Flying Fijians coach Mick Byrne who says that Fiji is familiar with Spain and Canada, both of which have strong kicking games and well-known playing styles.

He adds that Fiji has only played the Pumas four times, and those matches were spread over a long period.

With more than a year to prepare, Byrne says the team now clearly understands where they stand, and selecting and preparing the right players for the World Cup will be crucial.

The games will be played across 7 cities in Australia in October 2027.
