Japanese midfielder Yuta Konagaya has officially signed with Bula FC, adding international experience and proven quality to their squad ahead of the new campaign.

Speaking on his move to Bula FC, Konagaya expressed his excitement and ambition for the new chapter.

He says it is an honour to be part of the team, and personally, it is a new challenge.

The 32-year old says he has a strong desire to achieve something with Bula FC and is willing to help the team be the best it can be.

He adds that it is also a new challenge for the club and the league, and that he is excited and looking forward to playing on this new stage.

Konagaya’s football journey began at the age of six in Japan, when he joined a local club alongside a close friend, and what started as a simple introduction to the sport quickly developed into a lifelong passion, with football becoming his favourite pursuit and ultimately his profession.

Through years of consistency and dedication, Konagaya has built an impressive career across both Australia and Europe.

His time in Australia saw him represent St George Saints, Blacktown City, and Port Melbourne, where he gained valuable experience in highly competitive environments.

He later moved to Europe, featuring for APS Zakynthos in Greece’s second division, before returning briefly to Australia with Weston FC.

Konagaya then resumed his Greek journey, playing for Episkopi FC and most recently Aegious Plomariou, continuing to showcase his technical ability and work rate in midfield.

His performances have not gone unnoticed, and Konagaya earned individual recognition by being named in the Best XI of his group in 2020, followed by selection in the Best XI of the league in 2023, underlining his impact and consistency at a high level.

Bula FC supporters will be eager to see Konagaya bring his international experience, vision, and composure to the midfield as the club looks ahead to an exciting period.
