The Blitzboks have made six changes for the Vancouver and New York legs from the side that won in Perth, and Impi Visser is back at the helm, closing in on his 50th World Series tournament.

Visser will lead the squad for the final two events of the regular HSBC SVNS Series.

Selvyn Davids, Ronald Brown and Dewald Human are set to return from injury.

There is also a potential debut for Grant de Jager.

Head coach Philip Snyman says, overall, it is an experienced and exciting squad, and those players staying behind are pushing hard and creating an environment of competitive excellence.

He says this is a new group playing in a new tournament, and they take nothing for granted.

He adds they will start from scratch, knowing that previous results do not count in their pool matches against New Zealand, Spain and Great Britain.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side is currently preparing in Canada.

They have not performed well in Vancouver, having won only once since its inception in 2016.

Last year, the men’s side finished in the Bowl category, and they will be aiming to better this result, as their main aim is to win the series.

Fiji will take on France at 7.19am this Sunday in their first pool match. They will then play defending champions Argentina at 11.07am, before playing Australia at 2.56pm.

The Men’s Cup semi-finals are at 8.33am Monday, with the Cup final at 1.34pm.
