Ba beat Labasa 1-0 to book place in Fiji FACT final

Ba has booked its place in the BiC Fiji FACT final after defeating Labasa 1-0 in a thrilling semi-final at Subrail Park.

Both teams produced an entertaining display of football, with Ba dominating possession in the opening half and creating several scoring opportunities through their impressive passing game.

However, they were unable to capitalise on their chances.

Labasa also looked dangerous on the counterattack and created opportunities of their own, but neither side managed to break the deadlock as the match remained scoreless at half-time.

The second half continued at a fast pace, with both teams pushing hard for the opening goal.

Despite several attacking moves from both sides, neither team was able to find the back of the net, forcing the match into extra time after a goalless 90 minutes.

Ba finally made the breakthrough in the first spell of extra time when Etonia Dogalau scored what proved to be the winning goal to put the Men in Black ahead 1-0.

Labasa's hopes of staging a comeback suffered a major setback in the second spell of extra time after Iliesa Nayasi was shown a red card, reducing the Babasiga Lions to 10 men.

Ba defended resolutely for the remainder of the match to seal the victory and secure a place in tomorrow's BIC Fiji FACT final.

Following the win, Ba Football Association President Praneel Dayal says he was extremely proud of the team's performance.

Dayal praised the players for their outstanding display and expressed confidence that the BIC Fiji FACT title would return to Ba.

He also calls on Ba supporters to turn out in large numbers for the final and thanked the loyal fans who packed Subrail Park, creating a vibrant atmosphere with their musical instruments and unwavering support throughout the match.

Ba will now await the winner of the second semi-final as they look to lift the BIC Fiji FACT trophy.

Meanwhile, the final will be played tomorrow at 3pm.
