A total of 12 male and 4 female teams from the Waila Subdivision were part of the Waila Youth Easter volleyball competition that is currently held at the Waila grounds today.

Waila Youth President Seremaia Dabea says while coming out from COVID-19, the competition aims to promote peace and harmony within their neighborhood.

Dabea says as they have witnessed unwanted activities going around the country, the youths of Waila have come up with the idea of putting on a volleyball competition to bring their youths together.

He says families have come out in numbers to support the youth's initiative.

The winning men's team will receive $200, the runners up will receive $100, while winner of the women's competition will receive $50.

Also attending the tournament is a team from the Health Ministry who have been conducting medical checkups for children, youths and elderly from nearby communities.
